History
We do things a bit differently, and that's the way we like it!
Dusty Cornelius began farming in 2005. And he immediately established a reputation for being a meticulous farmer. He understands the limitations of our water resources and the importance of planning for the future. In 2000, D&H Landscaping Services began contracting installation projects for drip system companies in the South Plains and Panhandle of Texas. D&H had contracts to prepare the systems for the planting season by repairing leaks and replacing solenoids. They were also providing winterizing and acidity applications. In 2001, they were asked to bid on the complete installation and maintenance of subsurface drip systems on several farms. This specialized service instantly became a successful business enterprise for D&H. In 2004, they continued to install total irrigation systems for other drip system companies. They also subcontracted maintenance and service agreements from many of the larger installation companies.
Because of their vast experience with many different types and designs of drip systems, D&H were asked to design systems based upon their past experience and chose the best of each of the systems they had been installing and servicing. It was at this juncture that D&H decided they would minimize their subcontractor work as their experience in the industry had given them an idea of how to design and install systems that were unlike any they had worked on. They chose the “best of the best” from their experience as subcontractors. In 2008, D&H Irrigation combined the best products paired with excellent design to give the best return on investment for the landowner and producer. Of upmost importance to D&H with their newest addition to their business was to design and install subsurface drip systems that were user friendly.
They constructed a warehouse in Crosbyton so they would have access to a large array of parts with ample inventory on hand so they could design and build subsurface drip irrigation systems at this location. The parts inventory saves time when simple maintenance arises and these parts can be picked up at the warehouse before the D&H technicians head to the field.
Because of their understanding of water tables, D&H typically install extra valves and sections which create more zones to allow added control of the water distribution. The continual advances in technology helped D&H realize many of the frustrations the farmers were facing were caused by wire being buried underground. Electricity can be easily compromised so D&H implemented wireless antennas to control the valve tree. This simple yet effective solution became a radio systems standard in D&H installations during 2008. The natural progression for D&H Irrigation was to become involved in the cotton and corn fields in their community.
