Dusty Cornelius began his own lawn mowing business when he was twelve years old. Because of his hard work and dedication to customer satisfaction he was able to pay for his college education by mowing lawns. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture and Applied Economics at Texas Tech University. He continued mowing grass after college and began to subcontract with lawn service companies to apply various applications to their customers’ lawns. Once he learned how to install lawn sprinkler systems, he immediately offered this service to those companies as well. His expertise allowed him to offer many value-added services to customers. Once he was realized the improved yields and crop management abilities he offered these services to producers and landowners in the agriculture industry. Dusty has been the Mayor for the City of Crosbyton since 2008, is an active member of the Crosby County Livestock Association and on the Board of Directors for the Crosby County Fuel. He is also Assistant Fire Chief for the Crosbyton Volunteer Fire Department. Dusty and his family are faithful members of the First Baptist Church in Crosbyton.
